    Hi @Randall Padilla

Good day to you! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Support. I understand you're looking to add a column in Excel that calculates a sum total based on numerical values. I’d be happy to guide you through the steps to achieve this.

To add a column that calculates the sum total of values in Excel, please follow these steps:

1: Sum total for each row

If you want to sum values across multiple columns in each row:

    1. Insert a new column to the right of your data.
    2. Click on the first cell in the new column (e.g., E2).
    3. Enter the formula:=SUM(A2:D2) (Adjust the range A2:D2 based on your actual data columns.)
    4. Press Enter.

    6. Drag the fill handle (small square at the bottom-right corner of the cell) down to apply the formula to other rows.

2: Sum total for a column

If you want to sum all values in a single column:

    1. Click on the cell below the last number in the column (e.g., A101).
    2. Enter the formula:=SUM(A2:A100) (Adjust the range based on your data.)
    3. Press Enter.

Alternatively, you can use the AutoSum feature:

    • Select the cell where you want the total.
    • Go to the Home tab → click AutoSum (∑) → press Enter.

    Notes

    • Ensure all cells contain numerical values. Non-numeric entries may cause errors or be ignored.
    • You can format the total cell as Currency, Number, or Accounting using the Number Format dropdown in the Home tab.
