Dear @Jillian Mannix,
Good day. Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!
Regarding your inquiry regarding the SharePoint site access configuration.
When selecting the option “Public – anyone in the organization can access this site”, it means that all users within your Microsoft 365 organization will be able to access the site without needing to be explicitly added as members. However, please note that:
- Users must still be signed in to their Microsoft 365 accounts to access the site and its documents.
- This setting does not allow anonymous or external access. Only authenticated users within your organization can view or interact with the content.
- If you intend to share specific documents externally or with users who do not have Microsoft 365 accounts, you’ll need to use the Share feature on individual files and select the appropriate link settings (e.g., “Anyone with the link”).
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification.
Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated. Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day!
