How to remove/unshare a loop component?

I saw a previous post that asked this question, but I'm not sure if there was a resolution or update. I'm looking to unshare or remove a loop component. After creating loop component and sharing it, I'd like to remove the access and loop component. I want to keep all the data there, but it seems the only solve is to manually copy all the data and paste it elsewhere and then delete the loop component with the initial data. I'm sure with all the permissions and sharing capabilities, there must be a way to remove and update access to certain people per loop component.

    Dear @Tiffany Ritiau,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Community.

I understand you're looking to manage access to a Loop component without having to manually copy and paste all the data. A Loop component is saved as a file in your OneDrive and you can manage its permissions just like you would for any other file.

Here is the way to unshare a Loop component:

    1. Find the Loop Component File: The Loop component is saved as a .fluid file in your OneDrive. You can find it by going to onedrive.com and searching for the title of the Loop component. It is often located in the "Files" tab within a folder like "Attachments." (In my case, I shared it via Teams chat)

2. Manage Access: Once you find the file, right-click it and select Manage access or the Share button. This will open a panel with the sharing options.
    3. Remove Sharing Links: In the "Manage access" panel, you will see a list of people who have access to the file and any sharing links that have been created.
      • To remove access, select Stop sharing.

You can then add the people you still want to have access to your Loop component.

By following these steps, you will successfully remove access to the Loop component for others while keeping all the data in the file, which remains in your OneDrive.

I hope this information helps clarify the situation and provides you with workable solutions. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're always here to help. Have a wonderful day!

    Dear @Tiffany Ritiau,
Thank you for your update. The short answer to both of your questions is no.

For the first question: A Loop component file is created in your OneDrive as soon as you make it, whether you share it or not. The act of sharing just creates a link to that file. If you can't find one, it's not because you didn't share it. The file is saved as a .fluid file in your OneDrive. Depending on where the component was created, it might be saved in a specific folder, such as "Attachments," or in a folder for Teams chat files if it was created there. The best way to locate a component is to use the search function in OneDrive for the component's title.

For your second question: Unsharing a component removes access for others, but it does not change its appearance for you, the creator. The border is a visual design element of the Loop component and will remain as long as the content is in a Loop component file format. To remove the Loop component design, you must copy the content and paste it elsewhere as plain text. This converts the live, collaborative Loop content into a static format, which will remove the border and other interactive Loop features.

If this is a feature you would like to see, I suggest keeping an eye on the Microsoft Loop blog or the Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365 for any updates on this feature. In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. I also strongly recommend that you share your detailed experience and feedback directly with the Microsoft product team through their official channels.
