Hi @Nirodha Sheran
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum
I understand the important information has been already shared in the meeting chat. However, at present, Microsoft Teams does not offer a way to convert a meeting chat into a standard group chat. I understand this limitation can be frustrating. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
As a workaround, it is possible to add people to the meeting chat after the meeting has ended. However, please be aware that newly added participants will only be able to view messages from the time they are added onward. They will not have access to earlier chat history unless we manually forward key messages or files.
If you need to add someone to the meeting chat, here are the steps:
1.Open Microsoft Teams and go to the Chat tab.
2.Locate and open the meeting chat.
3.Select “Add people” in the top-right corner.
4.Enter the names or email addresses of the individuals you wish to include.
5.Confirm the addition.
Additionally, personally, I’m totally agree and understanding the convenient of being able to convert a meeting chat to a standard chat in Microsoft Teams. It definitely great improvement to the current availabilities of Microsoft 365 apps. In that case, I sincerely recommend you go to Feedback community to vote this similar feedback via Ideas · Community.
