Hi, I just received a used Lenovo X13, Upon turning it on Win11 was ready to set up.

First question was Language, I chose English... but the directions stayed in Spanish ?

Second page I stayed with the Spanish keyboard which it is.

Third page I tried to sign into my Microsoft account, But there was no way of getting the @ to work.

I read all the handbook guides ect.. But nothing worked, & without the email address I am stuck on the third set up page...

I have tried Spanish on Language & keyboard .. but the same thing... Help

Hi Pistol,

Thank you for reaching out! I understand how frustrating it can be to get stuck during the initial setup of your Lenovo X13, especially when language and keyboard settings don’t behave as expected. Let’s walk through what’s happening and how to fix it.

This is a known Windows 11 setup quirk. When you change the display language during the first setup, some screens may still appear in the original language (Spanish in your case). Don’t worry, once setup is complete, you can fully switch to English by going to: Settings → Time & Language → Language & Region. Then move English to the top of the list and install any pending updates. This will make the interface consistent.

On a Spanish keyboard, the @ symbol is typed using:

  • Alt Gr + 2
  • If that doesn’t work, try Ctrl + Alt + 2
  • On some layouts, Alt Gr + Q works too.

If you’re stuck on the Microsoft account screen, please try using the On-Screen Keyboard (click the Accessibility icon on the setup screen).

You can also bypass the Microsoft account requirement and create a local account with the steps below:

  • Press Shift + F10 to open Command Prompt.
  • Type: OOBE\BYPASSNRO
  • The system will restart and give you the option “I don’t have internet” → Continue with limited setup.

After setup completes, these are the steps you should take:

  • Install Windows Updates to fix the mixed-language issue.
  • Reorder or remove extra languages in Language & Region.
  • Add the keyboard layout you prefer for easier typing.

You’re almost there! These steps should get you past the setup screen and into Windows without further hassle. I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Please keep me informed.
