Error creating log file: please help

I keep getting error messages all day (like every 1-5 mins) that say: "Error creating log file: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." However, it does not tell me which program is creating it. What do I need to do to get rid of this message?

Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

I understand the issue you have. There is nothing to worry about. I am here to assist. Does the pop-up occur when you start the PC or intermittently while using? Do you remember any app you installed lately that may cause the issue?

While waiting, let us run Autorun, wherein we will remove unnecessary files that are not in use and are corrupted.

    Go to this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

    Click "Download Autoruns and Autorunsc"

    Then open and run Autoruns

Delete all highlighted with Pink and Yellow color (If you cannot delete some of those, it is okay to skip)

Method 2. Do a clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

Thanks for your help! Do official MS advisors answer questions as well?

It happens all day and I've done testing. I can't pin point it exactly. It happens while using Chrome, FF, and possibly other systems.

I don't remember installing any recent app. And this seems to be a common issue - I've seen it on this forum. For first option:

Are you saying to delete the pink and yellow entries like these?

Yes, the pink and yellow entries, if there is an error, skip the entry with the error and proceed to another one.

I'm not sure what you mean. I am just looking at all of them on the screen in the widget you suggested I download. Delete or skip or....??

Hi, sorry for the confusion. Please delete all highlighted with Pink and Yellow colors.
