- Do you see a red X icon on the volume icon on the taskbar?
- Could you please check in Device Manager if there are any warnings or errors showing for your audio driver?
- Go to Start > Settings > System > Sounds.
- Choose your default Output device > Ensure your internal speakers or headphones are selected as the default audio output device.
If you're unable to select the drivers, run the audio troubleshooter or reinstall the audio drivers first and see if it resolves your issue.
Run Audio troubleshooter -
Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
Run the Audio troubleshooter and restart your computer once finished.
Test the audio output. If the issue persists,
Reinstall audio drivers -
a. Open Device Manager.
b. Select the arrow next to sound video and game controllers.
c. Right-click your generic audio driver (e.g., Realtek (R)), select Uninstall device, select the Attempt to remove the driver for this device check box, and then select Uninstall.
d. Once uninstalled, restart your PC and test the system audio.
Let me know if you still need more help.
