From your description, may I know a few more details?
1- Firstly, could you please check and confirm your connections when printing? For example, if you're using USB, ensure the cable is secure; if it's a network printer, please verify connectivity (ping the printer IP), etc.
2- May I know if you have tried restarting your printer and your PC? If not, please try and see if the behavior still occurs.
If the issue persists after restarting, have you recently checked and updated Microsoft Office, Windows, and your printer drivers version? If not, could you please check for updates? Sometimes version differences can lead to conflicts and cause the behavior you are experiencing.
Additionally you can try repairing Office by go to Control Panel > select Programs and Features > your Office version > Change > Quick Repair (If Quick Repair doesn't help, you can try Online Repair.)
3- Could you also check if other apps can print normally (e.g., Notepad, Outlook)? If possible, could you please test on other machines to check the same behavior occurs?
And furthermore, could you share the troubleshooting steps you have already tried?
