Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I'm a recent data graduate eager to learn Microsoft Fabric for data engineering. My personal Microsoft account can't register for the 60-day trial, and my student account's school tenant has disabled Fabric features. Could you please assist with alternative access?

Thank you for your help.

Feng Jiang hi, I'm not from Microsoft but I would try to help ))))

For your personal Microsoft account, the Fabric trial should typically be available, but sometimes there are regional restrictions or account verification issues that block the registration. Have you tried accessing the trial through the official Microsoft Fabric page rather than through the Azure portal? Sometimes the direct path works better for personal accounts.

For your student account, when the school tenant disables Fabric features, this is usually an institutional policy decision. Many educational tenants restrict certain Azure services to control costs or maintain security. You might want to check with your university's IT department to see if they can enable Fabric specifically for your account, especially if you need it for academic projects.

Another approach worth trying is signing up for the Azure free account with your personal email. This gives you $200 in credits for 30 days, and Fabric is included in the services you can explore during this period. You can access Fabric through the Azure portal once your free account is set up.

The Microsoft Learn platform also has fantastic Fabric learning modules that include free sandbox environments where you can get hands-on experience without needing your own subscription. These sandboxes are specifically designed for learning and give you temporary access to full Fabric capabilities.

The official Fabric documentation has a getting started guide that might offer alternative access paths https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/get-started/trial.

If you're still having trouble, you might want to reach out to the Microsoft education support team specifically. They sometimes have special programs for students who need access to specific technologies for learning purposes.

    regards,

    Alex
