How to generate a Teams meeting link with Add to Calendar option for recipients

How do i include a link in my teams calendar invite that allows users to Add to Calendar. Currently the meeting link only allows recipients to Join.

Microsoft Teams meeting link is intended for joining the session rather than adding it directly to a calendar. To ensure recipients have an “Add to Calendar” option, here are a few practical approaches:

You can manually create and share an ICS file link:

  • In Classic Outlook, create the meeting and Save As > .ics file.
  • Upload the .ics file to OneDrive or SharePoint.

Copy the link and include it in your Teams invite or email with text like:

For Large Audiences: Consider using Microsoft Bookings or Teams Webinar, as these options automatically generate an “Add to Calendar” button for registrants.
