Hello all, my work switched us to the New Outlook and I'm really having an issue. I need to show From, To and Received date in my email inbox as I receive a great many emails that I am only cc'd on as well as emails directed specifically to me. I need to be able to see which are addressed specifically to me as well as the ones I'm cc'd on, but I can't find how to add the To column to my in box. Is there any way to do that? I get so many emails it's something I really need and I want to make this new outlook work for me. Thank you, Shirley

    Hi @S E

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I completely understand how important it is to quickly identify which emails are addressed directly to you versus those where you're CC’d - especially when managing a high volume of messages.

Currently, the New Outlook interface does not support adding the "To" column to the inbox view. This limitation is part of the simplified design, and unfortunately, column customization options like those in Classic Outlook are not available at this time.

While the New Outlook has a redesigned, here are a few workarounds that might help:

1/ Use search filters like to:me or cc:me to quickly sort messages.

2/ If your organization allows it, you might consider switching back to Classic Outlook, which retains full customization features.

    • To return to Classic Outlook, simply toggle off the 'New Outlook' switch located in the upper-right corner of the Outlook window. User's image
    • If you don't see the “New Outlook” switch, go to Help > Go to classic Outlook option. User's image
    • When you switch back you’ll be able to customize your inbox columns again, including adding the "To" field. For more details, Microsoft has a helpful guide here: Add or remove columns in the Inbox – Microsoft Support

I truly hope Microsoft will consider reintroducing this functionality in future updates. In the meantime, I encourage you to share your feedback through Microsoft’s Feedback Portal. The product team actively reviews suggestions to guide future improvements, and your input could help shape the experience for many users.

You can submit your suggestion to our product team via the Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub > Send Feedback > Describe your proposal in detail. User's image

Sharing your experience through Microsoft’s official feedback portal is the most impactful way to advocate for changes that could benefit you and many others.
Thank you again for your patience and for bringing this to our attention. While I’m unable to change the product’s design, I’m always here to help clarify its current functionality or assist with any other questions you may have.
