Controlling settings, permissions, and membership within Teams and channels
Hello Team,
I’ve already configured the Information Protection and DLP (Data Loss Prevention) policies for Microsoft Teams (Location). The required features and options are already set up under both Information Protection and DLP configurations.
However, I’m facing an issue specifically with enabling sensitivity labels under the “Content Contains” condition for Teams DLP policies.
This option appears and works as expected when configuring DLP for Exchange (Location), but it does not appear under Teams (Location) even though:
- The DLP policy for Teams chat and channel messages is already created and active.
Sensitivity labels for Teams, Groups, and Sites are properly configured in Microsoft Purview > Information Protection > Sensitivity labels with the Groups & sites scope enabled.
The labels are correctly set for Privacy, External sharing, and Shared channel options.
Additional Notes:
I understand that DLP policies using sensitivity labels are separate from container labeling in Teams or SharePoint.
DLP should be able to evaluate Teams chat or channel messages when the Teams location is selected within the policy configuration.
Could you please confirm if there are additional licensing requirements or any specific configurations required to make the “Content Contains → Sensitivity Label” condition available for Microsoft Teams within DLP policies?
