Hi there,

I’m a Copilot user who’s been having long, creative conversations with the AI (I call it “the electric storyteller” — it’s earned the title!).

I’ve turned on memory in the privacy settings, following all the steps. But Copilot doesn’t seem to remember anything — no facts, no context, not even that it helped me write a message to you yesterday.

These chats are long (over 10,000 characters), full of ideas, and the AI’s acting like a goldfish — no drinks involved, just no memory. We start fresh every day, even though memory should be working.

Maybe it’s time to reseat a switch, flip a power supply, bump the CPU clock, or delete a few old videos to free up disk space ;) And if it’s just a matter of a console tap — maybe someone could pause their protein shake and cast a quick “remember.enable()” spell ;)

I’d love to keep building on our conversations with memory working properly.

Thanks in advance.

    Dear j m,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with Copilot not remembering your previous interactions.

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you've enabled memory and expected it to retain context across sessions. You're definitely not alone — several users have reported similar situations recently.

Here are a few workarounds you can try to see if the issue improves:

    1. Clear Caches and cookie

    2. Use other browser

    3. Update and Restart

    4. Use Explicit Prompts

When asking Copilot to remember something, try using a more structured prompt like:

“Please save this as a memory for future reference: [your content]”

Then confirm by checking the Copilot memory again.

    5. Submit Feedback

Use the "Feedback" option within the Copilot app or website. Or you can also feedback via Feedback Hub. This is the most direct way to get your report to the engineering team. When you submit feedback this way, it often includes valuable diagnostic data (like your session ID, browser version, etc.) that helps them pinpoint the problem much faster.

If the issue persists, consider contacting Microsoft Support for more personalized assistance.

    1. Visit this website: Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. Type in your problems in the search box there. For instance, Copilot do not remember anything in conversations
    3. Now click Get help and Select Contact Support below.
    4. Go to the Products and services tab, and choose Other Products
    5. On the Category tab, choose Windows > Confirm
    6. You can now choose the option of Chat with a support agent on your web browser.

Please Note: The Chat support team only works at certain times, so if the last window says you are not available, try to open it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number.

I really hope that the information I gave above was helpful to you. Please feel free to reply below and let me know if you have further concern on this matter.
