Microsoft 365 Developer Program sandbox not renewing despite meeting activity requirements

I’m having an issue with my Microsoft 365 Developer Program tenant where the sandbox is showing as “Expiring Soon,” even though I’ve actively used it for development and testing. I’ve been regularly signing in, testing Graph API calls, and building sample apps in Teams and SharePoint, but the environment still isn’t renewing automatically as expected.

I’ve reviewed the renewal requirements on the documentation and confirmed that I have been performing qualifying activities (using the tenant for development, not for production, and logging in frequently). I also tried creating new sample workloads to “refresh” activity, but the renewal status hasn’t changed.

    Hi @Stites Dragan

Thank you so much for contacting Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Based on your description, I understand that your Microsoft 365 Developer Program sandbox is set to expire, even though you've been actively using it for what you believe are qualifying development activities (like Graph API calls, Teams/SharePoint app testing, and regular logins).

Based on the information I've found, the entire renewal process is automated. The system that evaluates user activity for renewal is a separate, internal mechanism.

As a moderator, I can only find and provide related documentation and guidance. I do not have access to the backend tools to check your account's specific activity logs, see why the system flagged it as inactive, or manually trigger a renewal.

Unfortunately, if the automated system has determined the activity doesn't meet the (unpublished) criteria, it's not possible to appeal the decision. The recommended path is to back up any data or code you need and then sign up for a new developer tenant once your current one expires.

    I apologize for the inconvenience.
