We have assigned "Microsoft Partner Success Core" subscription to several services but we have been billed with "Microsoft Cloud Partner Program - Yearly commitment". How do we correct this?

    Hello Mike,

Thanks for posting your question in Microsoft Q&A forum

The issue usually relates to how the billing credits and subscriptions are linked and redeemed.

Below are the recommended approaches to Correct this:

    • Partner Success Core Benefits credits are issued as Azure Sponsorship credits and are not automatically applied to existing subscriptions.
    • You must confirm that the credits have been redeemed and linked correctly to the right subscription in the Partner Center under Membership → Offers → Partner Success Core Benefits → View Benefits.
    • In the Azure Portal, verify in Cost Management + Billing → Billing Profiles that the subscription using the credits is under the Microsoft Partner Agreement billing account and shows as Azure Sponsorship, not a Pay-As-You-Go subscription.
    • If resources are under a subscription with Pay-As-You-Go, you need to move those resources to the subscription linked with the Partner Success Core Benefits credits.
    • If credits are exhausted, billing will revert to Pay-As-You-Go or the default commitment subscription.
    • If you have followed these steps & accurate credit redemption and correct subscription linkage, billing still shows as the wrong type, it might be a backend issue that requires additional support from Microsoft.

If you want to correct past charges billed under the wrong program, Microsoft does not support reassigning past invoices due to compliance. The supported path is to:

    • Move resources to the correct subscription that uses the Partner Success Core credits.
    • If overcharged under the wrong billing (e.g., Pay-As-You-Go or Microsoft Cloud Partner Program yearly commitment), you can request a refund or credit adjustment by raising a support ticket at partner.microsoft.com/support under billing, providing details about the redeemed Core Benefits and incorrect invoices.
