    Hi @Manisha Bansal,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Seeing charges for four licenses instead of one can be very concerning, and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

This issue can occur if multiple subscriptions were accidentally purchased or if there was a duplicate billing error. To resolve this quickly and accurately, we’ll need to involve Microsoft’s Billing Support team, as they have the tools to review your account, confirm the charges, and process any necessary refunds.

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center using your admin credentials.
      • If you don’t have admin permissions, please contact your organization’s IT administrator.
    2. Open Help & Support:
      • Click the green Help & Support button, usually located at the bottom-right corner of the Admin Center dashboard.
      • This will open the support pane.
    3. Search for assistance:
      • In the search bar, type “I need to check my subscription.”
    4. Select "Contact Support" from the options provided.
    5. Choose your preferences:
      • Select your preferred contact method, time zone, and language.
    6. Provide details:
      • Fill in your information and include a clear description of the issue for faster resolution.
      • You can also attach files, screenshots, or videos to support your request.
      • Once complete, click Contact me at the bottom.

To help the support team assist you quickly, please have the following ready:

    • Invoice number or reference
    • Subscription ID (if applicable)

The support team may be able to reissue the invoice depending on your account type and region.

Or you can contact them via phone number to Microsoft Support: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support - Select your country/region own phone number for support.

While you wait for our billing team, here are some workarounds that you can check through your billing:

1/ Begin by reviewing all active subscriptions and their seat allocations.

    • In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Billing then Your products. (Global admin only)
    • Locate the product in question and note the subscription name, subscription ID, and the license quantity. It should be one

2/ Proceed by aligning each invoice with the correct subscription.

    • Go to Microsoft 365 admin center.
    • Select Billing, choose Bills and payments.
    • Open the last four invoices and note the invoice numbers, dates, amounts, and the subscription ID or order number shown on each invoice line.

    • For any duplicate subscription or extra seats, open that subscription and choose Manage then Change license quantity.
    • Set the quantity to one or cancel the duplicate subscription if it is not needed.
    • If you see more than one subscription for the same product, keep the one you use and cancel the rest.
    • Once the seat count reflects one license, reply to this email with the invoice numbers for the extra charges. You can submit a credit or refund request for the duplicate license billing according to Microsoft policy.

Looking forward to your response and wishing you a great day ahead.

If you have been billed for 4 licenses but only have 1 license, there could be a few reasons for this discrepancy:

    1. License Changes: If you added or removed licenses from your subscription, the charges for those changes would appear on your next invoice. This means that if you made changes recently, it could result in being billed for more licenses than you currently have.
    2. Subscription Renewal: If your subscription renewed for a new term and the license price changed, this could also affect your billing.
    3. Invoice Errors: There might be an error in the billing process, leading to incorrect charges.

To resolve this issue, you should review your invoice details to understand the charges better and consider reaching out to Microsoft support for clarification on the billing discrepancies.
