SharePoint quick steps using wrong date format

Using SharePoint lists, have started using quick steps to update dates quickly. This has previously worked with no issues.

Today when trying to use it I received an "invalid date format" error in the cell. I have confirmed that the region locale setting is correct and when I input the date manually the format is dd/mm/yyyy. But the quick steps date format is set to mm/dd/yyyy and I can't find a way to change this to the correct format.

    Based on your description, your SharePoint list’s Quick steps/inline edit is parsing dates with the US format (mm/dd/yyyy) while your site and manual entry use dd/mm/yyyy.

    Here are some suggestions you can try:

    Confirm your personal language & region

    • Go to Microsoft 365 profile > Language and region.
    • Set Preferred language to one that uses dd/mm/yyyy (e.g., English (United Kingdom)) and set Region accordingly.
    • Sign out/in to refresh.

    Check the site regional settings

    • SharePoint site > Settings (gear) > Site information > View all site settings > Regional settings.
    • Set Locale to English (United Kingdom) (or any dd/mm/yyyy locale) and verify Time zone.
    • If the site is associated with a hub, confirm the hub’s regional settings too.
