Hi @Terry Norton

From what you’ve described, you’re dealing with two separate issues: not having administrator rights and receiving an email about “Customer Re-acceptance” to avoid service disruption.

When you purchase Microsoft 365 Business, the account that creates the subscription should automatically be assigned as a Global Administrator. Since you’ve never been able to access the Admin Center, this usually means one of three things: your account wasn’t properly assigned the Global Admin role during setup, the account used for sign-up is different from the one you’re currently using, or there’s a technical issue preventing role assignment.

Because you are the only user and purchased the subscription yourself, you should have admin rights. If you cannot access the Admin Center at all, the next step is to contact Microsoft Support: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

The Microsoft Data Protection team has tools and processes to verify your identity and help you regain access to the administrator account.

Please note that forum moderators have no control over user accounts, including logging in, resetting passwords, or changing access.

Here are some tips and an example of a prompt to help you navigate the IVR more effectively:

(When you call the support number, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore this introduction and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help.)

In some regions, the initial interaction may be automated, so here’s a general idea of how the conversation might go to help you prepare:

  • What kind of problem are you experiencing?
  • Answer: Authenticator
  • What products do you use?
  • Answer: Office 365 for business
  • Is this for an education or company account?
  • Answer: For companies
  • Are you an administrator?
  • Answer: Yes
  • Are there any other administrators in your organization?
  • Answer: No. I am the only admin in my tenant
  • Do you need a... Service request?
  • Answer: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me direct to the Data Protection Teams.

Once you regain admin rights, you’ll be able to accept the Microsoft Customer Agreement and avoid any disruption of service.

Please understand that our initial response may not fully resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help, patience, and more detailed information, we can work together to find the most suitable solution or direction forward.

    Hi @Terry Norton

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

If you’re seeing a message that you don’t have permission to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, this typically means your account hasn’t been assigned an admin role within Microsoft 365. Users without an admin role only have standard user permissions and therefore cannot manage settings in the Admin Center.

If this is a business account and you want to access and manage the Admin Center, the best next step is to reach out to your organization’s administrator or whoever manages permissions internally to request the appropriate access.

If you’re in a different situation or need help with something specific, please feel free to share more details so we can better understand the context and provide guidance tailored to your needs.

Your input will help us assist you more effectively. Thank you, and I look forward to your response!
