To save files from a SharePoint folder to your local desktop, you can use the OneDrive sync client. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Navigate to the SharePoint site where your folder is located.
    2. Go to the top-level document directory for the files you want to sync.
    3. Click on the Sync button on the top of the SharePoint ribbon.
    4. A prompt will appear asking if you want to open Microsoft OneDrive; select Open.
    5. Verify that the SharePoint files are synchronizing to your local drive by checking the OneDrive icon in the taskbar.
    6. You can manage the sync settings by right-clicking on the SharePoint folder in File Explorer and selecting Free up space to keep files online and download them only as needed.

For automating the process of saving any new files added to that folder, you can create a flow using Power Automate:

    • Use the SharePoint connector to trigger the flow whenever a file is created or modified in the specified SharePoint folder.
    • Add actions to copy that file to your local desktop or another designated folder.

This setup will ensure that any new files added to the SharePoint folder are automatically saved to your local desktop.

    Dear @K G,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that you want to download multiple files from a SharePoint folder to your local desktop.

You can download multiple files from a SharePoint folder by syncing with OneDrive or using an advanced approach with Power Automate.

Here is some information that will help clarify your question:

    Option 1: Sync via OneDrive

In your SharePoint document library, navigate to the folder you want to sync.

    Click Sync in the toolbar.

Your browser may prompt you to open OneDrive, click Open.

Sign in to OneDrive (if asked) and wait for the sync to complete.

In File Explorer, the synced SharePoint folder appears under your work account. Now you can open, save, and work with files locally.

You can right-click files or folders and select "Always keep on this device" or "Free up space", utilizing OneDrive’s Files On‑Demand feature.
