If you are unable to adjust the brightness of your display using the F2 and F3 keys, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check BIOS Settings: Ensure that your BIOS settings allow for automatic brightness control. Look for settings related to ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) that might enable or disable automatic LCD brightness adjustments.
    2. Update Display Drivers: Make sure your display drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager in Windows. Right-click on the Start button, select Device Manager, expand the Display adapters section, right-click on your display device, and select Update driver.
    3. Windows Settings: Go to Settings > System > Display. Check if the brightness slider is available and functional. If it's grayed out, it may indicate a driver issue.
    4. Function Key Behavior: Some laptops require you to press the Fn key along with the F2 or F3 keys to adjust brightness. Ensure that you are using the correct key combination.
    5. Adaptive Brightness Settings: Check if adaptive brightness is enabled. You can find this under Settings > System > Display > Brightness and color. Look for an option related to "Change brightness automatically when lighting changes" and toggle it.
    6. Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 is fully updated, as updates can fix bugs related to hardware functionality.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking the HP support website for specific guidance related to your model.
