Hello,

I want to register school account of my son at my laptop but my device cannot be registated. I wonder are there any restricstions of doing this becasue during the registration process I recieve codes that local support can not help me with for several days. After exchange of my problems with them and sending them back a screenshoot they gave a vague answer to excuse themselves. Now I want to clear things up and I need a help because I have latest WIn 11 pro system on my laptop. I provide a picture with error codes.

Regards

    Hi @timeo et pax,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue you encountered while registering your child’s school account on your Windows 11 Pro laptop.

Based on your description, this issue may occur due to one or more of the following reasons:

    • Device enrollment restrictions set by the school (e.g., only managed or compliant devices are allowed).
    • Conditional access policies requiring specific security settings.
    • Account conflicts if the device is already linked to another organization.
    • Network or regional restrictions during the registration process.

To assist you better, could you please provide:

    1. The exact error message or code displayed during registration (a screenshot would be very helpful).
    2. The steps you followed before the error occurred.
    3. Whether you are trying to join the device to the school account or simply add the account for apps.

Once I have this information, I’ll be better positioned to guide you through the next steps.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

To register a school account on your laptop, ensure that your device meets the necessary requirements and that there are no restrictions in place that could prevent the registration. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Device Enrollment Restrictions: Sometimes, organizations may have restrictions on personal devices enrolling in their systems. If your device is recognized as a personal device, it might be blocked from registering. You may need to contact your school’s IT department to confirm if there are any such restrictions.
    2. Verify Account Settings: Make sure you are using the correct credentials for the school account. Double-check that you are signing in with the appropriate work or school account linked to your son's school.
    3. Network Connection: Ensure that your laptop is connected to a stable internet connection, as this is required for the registration process.
    4. Error Codes: If you are receiving specific error codes during the registration process, it would be helpful to provide those codes to the support team for more targeted assistance. You can also look up common error codes related to device registration to see if there are known solutions.
    5. Windows Settings: Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school on your Windows 11 laptop. From there, you can attempt to add the school account again.

If the issue persists, it may be beneficial to escalate your concerns with the local support team or seek assistance from a different support channel that specializes in Microsoft services.
