I have been locked out of Lenovo Windows 11 laptop for a month waiting for my Microsoft security info to update. When I started laptop last month after windows update, received blue screen to enter bitlocker recovery key which I could not enter because I could not access my account to get the recovery key.

Now that my security info update is complete, I have the recovery key but cannot figure out how to bring up the blue screen again that will allow me to enter the recovery key.

I have rebooted several times - the Lenovo logo appears followed by a blank screen. Is there a prompt that I can enter to bring up the screen and enter recovery key. I have searched online & cannot seem to find answer to this specific question. Thank you.

To bring up the BitLocker recovery screen on your Lenovo Windows 11 laptop, follow these steps:

    1. Power Off the Laptop: Ensure your laptop is completely powered off.
    2. Power On the Laptop: Turn on your laptop.
    3. Interrupt the Boot Process: As soon as the Lenovo logo appears, you can try interrupting the boot process. You can do this by holding down the power button until the laptop turns off, then turning it back on. Repeat this process 2-3 times. This should trigger Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
    4. Access Recovery Options: Once in WinRE, navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
    5. Enter Recovery Key: If prompted, you should see the BitLocker recovery screen where you can enter your recovery key.

If this method does not work, you may need to ensure that your laptop is set to boot from the correct drive in the BIOS settings. You can access the BIOS by pressing a specific key (often F1, F2, or Delete) during the startup process, depending on your Lenovo model.

If you continue to have issues, consider reaching out to Lenovo support or Microsoft support for further assistance.
