It seems that you are encountering issues creating graphs in Excel after converting a file from SPSS and saving it as an Excel macro-enabled file. While the specific error message you are receiving is not detailed in the provided context, there are a few general troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    1. Check Macro Settings: Ensure that macros are enabled in your Excel settings. If macros are disabled, it could prevent certain functionalities, including graph creation.
    2. Data Compatibility: Sometimes, data formats from SPSS may not translate perfectly into Excel. Verify that the data types in your Excel file are appropriate for graphing (e.g., numeric data for Y-axis).
    3. Excel Version: Ensure that you are using a compatible version of Excel that supports the features you are trying to use. Some older versions may have limitations.
    4. Repair Excel: If the issue persists, consider repairing your Office installation. This can resolve underlying issues that may be affecting functionality.
    5. Recreate the Graph: If possible, try to recreate the graph from scratch using the data in the Excel file to see if that resolves the issue.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, you may need to provide more specific details about the error message you are encountering for further assistance.

    Hi @AATIKAH LEBELO,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for contacting us. I would like to provide you with the following information:

    Check and Standardize Data

    • Open the Excel file and verify:
      • Are numeric columns formatted as Text? If yes, change them to Number.
      • Remove special characters or extra spaces using Find & Replace.
      • If data is merged, use Text to Columns to split it.

    Standardize Table Structure

    • Ensure there is only one header row.
    • Delete variable labels or notes added by SPSS.
    • Avoid blank spaces or empty rows within the data.

    Check Excel Macros

    • Test the macro with a simple data table to identify errors.
    • Verify that the macro code correctly specifies the data range.

    Create Charts Manually

    • Select the standardized data range.
    • Go to Insert > Chart and choose the appropriate chart type.
    • If errors persist, try creating a PivotTable and then generate a chart from it.

    Notes When Exporting from SPSS

    • When exporting data from SPSS:
      • Choose Excel format (.xls or .xlsx) instead of CSV if possible.
      • Check export options to avoid adding variable labels or extra spaces.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if they work for you. If not, we can work together to resolve the issue.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to your response.
