    Hello @Kinya Munini ,

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

What happened to data in the Containers in ADLS storage when the ADLS storage is deleted?

If you delete the container underlying Directories (folders and data) will be deleted.

    • Will the data in the container also be deleted?

Yes, the data will be deleted.

    • Is there a way to delete the adls storage and keep the data in the containers?

No, every container is associated with the filesystem and the file system is associated with the ADLS storage account.

    • Is there an efficient to convert an existing ADLS Storage to Blob Storage while keeping the huge volume of data already in ADLS?

Why do you want to convert existing ADLS storage to Blob storage?

Note: You can use Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Analytics to copy data to and from ADLS Gen2 to Blob and vice-versa.

For more details, refer to Copy and transform data in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 using Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Analytics

Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 is a set of capabilities dedicated to big data analytics, built on Azure Blob Storage.

Data Lake Storage Gen2 converges the capabilities of Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1 with Azure Blob Storage. For example, Data Lake Storage Gen2 provides file system semantics, file-level security, and scale. Because these capabilities are built on Blob storage, you'll also get low-cost, tiered storage, with high availability/disaster recovery capabilities.

For more details, refer to Introduction to Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2

Hope this will help. Please let us know if any further queries.
