For data privacy - I've masked my company as [company]
In our local market, we used to manage 2 communities

'[company] Philippines' and 'Insights Philippines'

After a recent update with viva engage, many of us observed to have been kicked out of the local communities, we were able to get back on the '[company] Philippines' group but could not find 'Insights Philippines' afterwards.

Is it safe to assume this got archived?

If yes, why?
No heads up or notification email was sent our way as to why our community disappeared.

    Hi @Miguel Molina

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the information you described, I understand that after a recent update in Viva Engage, many users were removed from your local communities. While you were able to rejoin the '[company] Philippines' group, the 'Insights Philippines' community seems to have disappeared, and you are wondering if it was archived without notification.

To help me understand the situation better, could you please provide a few more details?

    • Can the Community Admin still see or access the group, or is it missing for them as well?
    • What happens if you try to access the old URL/link to that community? Do you get a specific error message?
    • Do you know if your organization recently made any changes regarding Native Mode migration?
    • Could you please check in Outlook or SharePoint to see if a group with a similar name still exists there?

Any additional information you can provide will help me assist you better.

It seems that the community "Insights Philippines" may not have been converted to a Microsoft 365 group during a recent update, which could explain why you are unable to find it. According to the information available, if a community did not meet the eligibility criteria during the automated conversion process, it would not be converted, and thus, it may have been archived or removed without notification.

To resolve this, you can check if the community meets the necessary criteria for conversion. If it does, you may need to create a support ticket to request its conversion back to a Microsoft 365 group. Additionally, it's important to ensure that all groups have owners with Microsoft 365 Group creation privileges and that they have members.

Unfortunately, it appears that there was no heads-up or notification regarding the disappearance of the community, which can be frustrating for users.
