Microsoft Store cannot install Minecraft

I have an issue where I cannot install Minecraft on the Microsoft Store. The only way I've been able to is through the Windows Legacy option on the Minecraft website, however, this version comes without Bedrock Edition, which is the version I want so I can play with my friends

Everything I have done:

  1. Cleared the system cache using wsreset.exe
  2. Restarted my Laptop
  3. Checked for system updates, of which there are none.
  4. Tried using the command: get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage –allusers`` ``start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
  5. Tried using the command: Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
  6. going into the registry edit going to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AppXSvc and changing the number to 2
  7. Uninstall my Antivirus

I've tried literally everything on the internet, nothing has worked. The same issue persists with the Xbox app on Windows. I don't know what to do at this point. I've gone into Task Manager to see what happens when I click the install button. What happens is that when i click install it just shoots down to 0.0& CPU usage. It doesn't bottleneck, it just goes straight to 0.

My PC specifications, in case it is important:

    Hi cray

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Forum!

I understand how frustrating it can be to have trouble installing Minecraft from the Microsoft Store. Since you’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps, here are some additional methods you can try:

    1. Check Activation Store Files
    • Navigate to: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\AppRepository\Packages\Microsoft.Minecraft.Versions\ActivationStore.dat
    • If ActivationStore.dat exists, delete it and then try reinstalling Minecraft.

    2. Modify Registry Key

    • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
        reg add HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\StateChange\PackageList\Microsoft.Minecraft_1.0.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe /v PackageStatus /t REG_DWORD /d 2

    • Replace the package name if yours is different.

    3. Remove and Reinstall via PowerShell

    • Run:
        Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Minecraft* | Remove-AppxPackage

    • Then reinstall Minecraft from the Microsoft Store.

    4. Check Network Settings

    • Ensure your network or firewall isn’t blocking Microsoft Store downloads.

    5. Update Windows

    • Confirm your Windows version is fully updated, as some fixes require specific updates.

    6. Try a New User Account

    • Create a new account on your PC and attempt the installation there. This can bypass profile-specific issues.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please share:

    • Your Windows version.
    • Any error messages during installation.
    • Whether other apps from the Microsoft Store install successfully.
    • If you’re using a VPN or proxy.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further assistance.
