Hi @Aggie,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns with us. I completely understand how important this matter is to you, and I appreciate the time you’ve taken to explain the situation.
To address your concern, please follow the steps below:
- Press Windows + R, type
%appdata%\Microsoft\Bibliography\Style, and press Enter. - In the folder that opens, locate the styles that appear in Word (such as APA and MLA).
- Open one of these files using Notepad and search for the tag
<xsl:when test="b:Version">by pressing Ctrl + F.
- Copy the block of code between this tag and paste it into the missing style file.
- Update the name from APA to the correct reference style name, for example:
<xsl:when test="b:OfficeStyleKey">
<xsl:text>IEEE</xsl:text>
</xsl:when>
- Save and close the file, then restart Word. The new style should now appear in the dropdown list.
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.
