A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Dear @Admin Datix,
Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!
Based on your description, I understand that you're experiencing an issue where the Copilot icon isn’t appearing in Word or Outlook on your device, even though you're using Microsoft 365 Business Premium and a colleague with the same license can see it.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue.
Regarding this matter, kindly try the following suggestions to enable missing Copilot button in Microsoft 365 apps and Outlook:
For Microsoft 365 apps: Please refer to this article for more visual reference: How to find and enable missing Copilot button in Microsoft 365 apps
- You must be signed into Office with the account that has the Copilot license
- For business users, valid subscriptions include: Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, E3, E5, F1, F3 and a Microsoft 365 Copilot license
- You need to make sure that the primary account shown at the top-right of Word/Excel is the one with the license
- Kindly update Office to the latest build via File > Account > Update Options > Update Now
- Sometimes your app hasn’t pulled the latest license that includes Copilot so you need to refresh your Office license
- Open Word/Excel
- Go to File > Account
- Click Update License
-
- Restart all Office apps
- Please check your Update Channel because Copilot does not appear if your device is on the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel
- You must be on: Current Channel, or Monthly Enterprise Channel
- Also kindly check your privacy settings as Copilot will not load if these settings are turned off
- Go to File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings and ensure:
- Experiences that analyze your content = ON
- All connected experiences = ON
- If your organization manages these, your admin must enable them
- Go to File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings and ensure:
- Ensure the Copilot icon hasn’t been manually removed
- You could Go to File > Options > Customize Ribbon
- Ensure Copilot is enabled (If unchecked, the icon won’t appear even if everything else is correct.)
For Outlook (if you're using New Outlook): Please refer to this article for step-by-step instructions: Use the “Turn on Copilot” toggle to turn off Copilot in Outlook (scroll down to see the instructions for Outlook)
- Outlook uses a “Turn on Copilot” toggle, different from Word/Excel
- Therefore, please make sure that the toggle is turned ON in: Outlook > Settings > Copilot > Turn on Copilot
-
I hope this helps with your situation!
Kindly let me know when there are updates or if you need further assistance. Any updates you’re able to share would be really helpful. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing how things are going!
