Hi Dorian Salmon,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. I know how frustrating it can be to get stuck in a verification loop when you’re just trying to finish setting up your new PC.
Here are a few more steps that usually help in this situation:
Step 1: Restart your device and retry the setup
Sometimes the setup process gets stuck in a loop. Power off your computer completely, wait about 30 seconds, and then restart. This refreshes the setup environment and clears temporary glitches.
Step 2: Switch to a different network or turn off VPN/proxy
CAPTCHA checks can fail if the connection looks unusual. If you’re using a VPN or proxy, disable it temporarily. If possible, try connecting to a different network (like a mobile hotspot) to rule out network-related issues.
Step 3: Create the account on another device
Go to https://account.microsoft.com from a mobile phone or another computer and create your Microsoft account there. Once it’s set up, return to your new PC and sign in with that account instead of creating a new one during setup.
Step 4: Use an offline account during setup
If the verification loop continues, choose the “Sign-in options” link during setup and select “Offline account.” This lets you finish installing Windows without a Microsoft account. After setup, you can link your Microsoft account by going to Settings > Accounts > Your info.
Please keep me posted on how it goes, and feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance. I’ll be happy to help.
