My Microsoft account is connected with my old phone number, and I cannot login to the Authenticator because it asks me to use the Authenticator to login to the Authenticator on the same device which is impossible. The only other option is receive a code to a phone number, but it’s my old phone number and I cannot change it because I need access to the Authenticator, please help I can’t get anyone on the phone to solve this

If you're unable to access your Microsoft account because it's linked to an old phone number and you can't receive the verification code, you will need to have another admin reset your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Ask another cloud services admin to sign in to the cloud service portal.
    2. They should navigate to the Multi-Factor Authentication user management page.
    3. Select your account and choose Manage user settings.
    4. Check the box for Require selected users to provide contact methods again and save the changes.

This will prompt you to set up your authentication methods again, allowing you to update your phone number.

If you do not have access to another admin, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
