    Dear @Tim Bargo

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how inconvenient it must be to open a new message in Outlook and not see Copilot appear on the toolbar.

Copilot may not appear in Classic Outlook if your build or channel doesn’t support it, required licensing or tenant settings (like Autodiscover V2) are missing, privacy settings that enable connected experiences are turned off or the Simplified Ribbon hides the button under the overflow menu.

Since you didn’t mention whether your account is work, school, or personal and whether you are an IT admin, could you please clarify the following details so we can assist you better?

1/ Have you seen the Copilot button before, or is this the first time it’s missing?

    User's image

2/ What is your Classic Outlook version and update channel?

You can find this under File > Office Account > About Outlook.

    User's image

3/ What license is assigned to your account? (Please make sure to blur or cover any personal or sensitive information in the screenshot to protect your privacy).

Please go to office.com > Apps > Install apps > Microsoft 365 apps > Subscriptions.

Make sure both your operating system and Outlook app are fully updated.

Option 1: Verify the Outlook build and update channel

Go to File > Office Account.

Select Update Options > Update Now.

Please confirm that you are on Current Channel or Monthly Enterprise Channel.

    Option 2: Check privacy settings

Go to File > Office Account.

Under Account Privacy, select Manage Settings.

    Open Classic Outlook.
