Hi,

Is it possible for Microsoft Forms to automatically save a user's response after submission without requiring them to manually click 'Save my response'?

Additionally, when a response is edited, it does not trigger the Power Automate flow to update the corresponding SharePoint list. Is there a way to trigger a Power Automate flow when a Microsoft Forms response is edited?"

Thanks,

Ajith

Microsoft Forms does not currently support automatic saving of a user's response after submission without requiring them to manually click 'Save my response'. Users must complete the submission process by clicking the save option.

Regarding triggering a Power Automate flow when a Microsoft Forms response is edited, the current functionality of Microsoft Forms does not include a trigger for edited responses. The only trigger available is "When a new response is submitted," which means that edits to existing responses will not initiate the flow.

If you need to handle edits, you may need to consider alternative approaches, such as using a different data collection method or manually triggering a flow when an edit occurs.

    Hello @Ajith Varghese,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

For your concern, I’ve researched this further and will address each concern separately:

1.Automatic Saving After Submission Without Clicking “Save My Response”:

Based on the official Microsoft Forms blog post: You can now save and edit your survey responses

There has been no update confirming fully automatic saving after submission.

As AI assistance mentioned above respondents must still click “Save my response” on the end page after submitting.

2.Triggering Power Automate Flow on Edited Responses:

Currently, Microsoft Forms does not provide a trigger for edited responses. The only available trigger is: “When a new response is submitted.”

However, I also found a discussion that might be relevant to your scenario: Solved: When Microsoft Form Response is Edited

Additionally, to ensure you receive professional help and avoid misinformation, I strongly recommend posting your question in the Microsoft Power Platform Community Forum Thread, where experts specialize in flow design and advanced triggers.

I apologize for redirecting you, but this forum mainly focuses on Microsoft 365 usage and has limited expertise in Power Automate. By posting in the dedicated community, you’ll get quicker and more accurate assistance.

Thank you for your patience and understanding; I truly appreciate your time and cooperation.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
