    Dear tim2

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Community. I understand you are having a problem retrieving your tickets because they were sent to an old Hotmail account (now Outlook) and you no longer remember the account name or password.  Please be assured that follow these steps could give you best chance to recover your account.

Please submit the account recovery form via Recover your account. When completing the form, take your time and provide as much accurate information as you can remember.

The more consistent and complete the information, the better the chance Microsoft has to verify ownership and restore access. Microsoft reviews this data automatically, and this method offers the highest success rate for accounts with forgotten credentials.

Further guidance can be found here: Help with the Microsoft account recovery form - Microsoft Support

If the form does not succeed, the next step is to contact Microsoft Support directly:

    • Visit Contact - Microsoft Support
    • Type a brief description of your issue in the search box
    • Scroll down to the bottom > select Sign in to contact support
    • Log in to another available personal Microsoft account.
    • Under Products & Services, select "Other Products"; Under Categories, select "Manage account security", and click Confirm.
    • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours)

Please note that Microsoft enforces strict security and privacy rules. There are limits on recovery attempts, and unfortunately accounts that are permanently closed or inactive cannot be restored.

Note: As a community moderator, please understand that we have limited access to the internal details of the development. Our primary role is to direct users to the appropriate support channels and resources. While we can't directly verify an in-depth analysis of the backend, we will do our best to help you within our responsibilities
