Where do I put my Office Product key ?

I deleted my old Microsoft Office 2021 and trying to update it to my new 2024 key ?

The Office 2024 key that you purchased must be redeemed into a Microsoft account (https://setup.office.com) and then you can complete installation and activation of the product.

If you have a new Office 2024 product key, you’ll need to redeem and activate it through your Microsoft account rather than entering it directly in an app.

To redeem a new purchase:

• Go to www.office.com/setup and sign in with your Microsoft account, or create one if you don’t have one. Keep this account safe as it’s required for future installs or reinstalls without a product key.
• Enter your product key (without hyphens) if prompted. If you don’t see this option, the key was applied automatically.
• Follow the on-screen steps to complete redemption.

To install Office: If you see the message “This product key has already been used” when entering it on the setup page, the key has already been redeemed and is no longer needed. Instead, sign in at account.microsoft.com with your Microsoft account and install Office from there.

If you previously had Office 2021, uninstalling it was the right step. The new key does not upgrade the old installation as it creates a new entitlement tied to your account.
