Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Dear @Paul Goodwin,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand that you’d like to switch back to Classic Outlook from the New Outlook experience.
Please review the guidance provided by Q&A Assist above, which explains how to use the toggle to switch from New Outlook back to Classic Outlook.
If the toggle is missing, it’s likely because both versions of Outlook are installed separately on your computer. In this case, please follow the steps below to open Classic Outlook:
- Click the Start button (Windows icon) on your taskbar.
- Type "Outlook" in the search bar.
- Look closely at the search results:
- "Outlook" is the version you are trying to leave.
- "Outlook (classic)" (with the classic blue icon) is the Classic version.
- Select the classic Outlook app to open it.
Pro-tip: Right-click the classic Outlook icon and select Pin to taskbar to ensure you don't accidentally open the new version next time.
If you don’t see Classic Outlook listed in your search results, you can download and install it using the following Microsoft Support article: Install or reinstall classic Outlook on a Windows PC - Microsoft Support
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
