Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Dear @Akram Hassan,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand how confusing this can be, especially when you’re trying to manage a recurring Teams meeting and prevent specific participants from accessing it in the future.
You can remove participants from a recurring Microsoft Teams meeting in Outlook, so they no longer have access to future occurrences, as long as you are the meeting organizer.
In New Outlook, here are some steps I recommend you try again:
- Open Outlook Calendar and double‑click the meeting.
- Select Edit series to update the entire recurring meeting.
- In the attendee list, locate the person you want to remove and select the X next to their name.
- Once finished, select Send to save and send the update.
- After the update is sent, the removed participant will no longer receive future meeting updates about the upcoming meeting
- You can also refer to Microsoft’s official documentation here for detailed steps Remove a person from a meeting
However, please note that if the meeting link was previously forwarded or saved, access may not be fully revoked in all scenarios.
Recommend Workaround: Recreate the meeting series
If you need to ensure access is completely removed, the most reliable option is to cancel the existing recurring meeting and create a new one, inviting only the intended participants.
If the issue still persists, to better understand the behavior you’re seeing and ensure I can provide the most effective solution, could you please help clarify the following:
- When you removed the participant, did you select Edit series (entire series) or only a single occurrence of the meeting?
- After sending the update, does the removed participant:
- Still see future meetings on their calendar, or
- Only have access if they try to join using a previously saved or forwarded meeting link?
- Are you the original organizer of the meeting, or was it created by another user?
- Is this meeting a regular meeting invitation or a Teams channel meeting?
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. If I misunderstand anything, please feel free to reach out.
Please understand that the initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
