Hello There,
I encountered a situation where the switch to mode is disabled in edit table properties tab in SSAS tabular model as shown in the screenshot below; I notice this difference in comparison to a youtube video, where the edit-tab /window got more options.
Would anyone please help me understand what makes the difference with options and edit window?

The screenshot from your project is using a modern or "structured" data source. The one from youtube is using an older legacy data source.

Thank you for responding on my concern.
I agree with you about the version difference with the VS-tool; however, what I am enable to achieve is to use the switch-to option which was disabled in edit-table-properties window. I attached the screenshot of edit-properties-window taken from VS-Tabular-Mode-Tool referring to DimCustomer table on which I applied filters.
This is not a version difference. It is the fact that you are using a different type of data source from what you were looking at in the video.
If you want to go back to the query editor you just need to click on the "Design..." button at the bottom of the screen. (I don't know why they keep the disabled "switch to" option there it seems confusing to me)

Thanks for your posting.
Could you please check which version of Visual Studio do you use? Though I tested in my VS2017, I can switch to table preview. But I found a feedback about this issue, and there has a workaround can fix it. Please refer to this link.
