I submitted the following question earlier..."I'm far too old and my question is far too detailed to describe (which is why I need live chat support), but it has to do with microsoft authenticator app." The answer I was given was AI generated. I tried to follow it, but in the end, it brough me back here. So, when they asked if their answer solved my problem or if I accept or reject their solution, I check-marked "reject" for the reason "Not solved because solution was unclear" or words to that effect. I got an email that said that my question was removed for violating code of conduct. I apologize if it was interpreted as being sarcastic or glib. That was not my intention. In all sincerity, my question is impossible for me to describe clearly and in detail. I don't remember when it started, or the multiple steps I made on my own to try to rectify it. It's probable that I caused the issues. In any event, I'm stuck. I would be grateful if someone knowledgeable in microsoft authenticator could help me authenticate access into my email account. As of now, I am caught in a loop where it says to go to my authenticator to choose a two-digit code, but when I go to the authenticator, it just shows me the same message "go to your authenticator with this two-digit number" again and again. I find that I cannot even access the authenticator itself at times. I hope that this message did not violate any code of conduct.

It seems you are experiencing issues with the Microsoft Authenticator app, particularly with the two-factor authentication process. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the loop you are encountering:

    1. Check App Permissions: Ensure that the Microsoft Authenticator app has the necessary permissions to function properly on your device. This includes access to notifications and any other relevant settings.
    2. Update the App: Make sure that your Microsoft Authenticator app is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer versions.
    3. Reinstall the App: If the app is still not functioning correctly, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the Microsoft Authenticator app. This can help reset any settings that may be causing issues.
    4. Clear Cache (if applicable): If you are using an Android device, you can try clearing the cache of the app through your device settings. Go to Settings > Apps > Microsoft Authenticator > Storage > Clear Cache.
    5. Check for Device Issues: Ensure that your device is functioning properly and that there are no underlying issues affecting app performance.
    6. Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, you may need to reach out to Microsoft support directly for assistance. They can provide more personalized help based on your specific situation.

If you are still unable to access your email account, it might be beneficial to provide as much detail as possible to the support team to help them understand your issue better.
