Excel, and Outlook (and probably others) continues to crash. I have done reinstalled Microsoft 365, checked for updates and Microsoft's repair tool and nothing works.

    Hi @Dave Hofferberth,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for contacting us. I would like to provide you with the following information:

Based on your description, even though you have performed an online repair, the issue persists. It is highly likely that the problem originates from a conflict between the application and your current computer settings:

    1. Conflict with add-ins
    2. Conflict with firewall or other applications and drivers on your device

First, please open the application in Safe Mode:

    • Step 1: Press Windows + R
    • Step 2: Type one of the following commands:
      • Word Safe Mode: winword /safe
      • User's image
      • Excel Safe Mode: excel /safe
      • User's image
      • PowerPoint Safe Mode: powerpnt /safe User's image
      • Outlook Safe Mode: outlook /safe User's image

How to identify if you are in Safe Mode:

    User's image

    • If the application does not crash in Safe Mode, the issue is caused by add-ins. In that case, enable each add-in one by one to identify which one is causing the problem.
    • If the issue is not related to add-ins, it is likely due to a conflict with your computer settings.

In this case, you need to contact Microsoft Technical Support for a deeper investigation through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

Steps to create a support ticket:

    • Step 1: Go to https://admin.microsoft.com using an account with tenant admin rights. Note: If you do not have admin rights, please contact your organization’s IT department for assistance with the next steps. User's image
    • Step 2: Click Help and Support
    • Step 3: Enter the title: Need assistance checking application crash issue User's image
    • Step 4: Click Contact Support
    • Step 5: Choose your preferred contact method User's image

After creating the support ticket, a live agent will proactively reach out to you. They will perform a remote session and help identify the root cause of the issue.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.
