Hi Mac Gilpin

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I'm sorry that your account was hacked and your account stop receiving mail, that's concerning.

I can see there’s a Q&A Assist reply under your post. To avoid repeating it, could you tell me whether you’ve tried those steps yet, and what happens when you try?

In the meantime, please try the following steps:

1. If you haven't secured your account yet, please do these now

2. Check Outlook on the web to see if emails are there

  • Sign in to Outlook on the web
  • Check all folders (Inbox, Junk Email, Deleted Items, Archive)
  • Check Other tab (if Focused Inbox is on)
  • If emails appear on the web but not in your Android device, it's a sync issue

3. Check for malicious rules/forwarding

Still in Outlook web's settings, go to:

  • Settings > Mail > Rules/ Sweep: delete any suspicious rules you did not create
  • Settings > Mail > Forwarding: make sure nothing is forwarding

4. Check mailbox storage

  • If your mailbox is full, new emails won't arrive
  • Check storage (go to Settings > Account > Storage) and free up space if needed.

5. Check your internet connection:

  • Ensure your device has a stable internet connection and try switching between networks (e.g., from Wi-Fi to mobile hotspot) then test again.

For more details, please refer to these official guides:

If you still can’t receive emails after trying the steps above, please feel free to let me know so I can assist you further. I truly appreciate your time and understanding.

If your Outlook email was hacked and you are not receiving emails, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check for Rules: Sometimes, rules can be created that divert your emails to other folders or even delete them. Check your rules in Outlook to ensure none are misconfigured. You can do this by going to the Rules settings in Outlook and reviewing any existing rules.
    2. Account Security: Since your account was hacked, ensure that you have changed your password and enabled multi-factor authentication (MFA) to secure your account further. This can help prevent unauthorized access in the future.
    3. Send/Receive Settings: Make sure that your Outlook is set to automatically send and receive emails. If it is not, you may need to create a new Send/Receive group. Instructions for this can vary depending on your version of Outlook, but generally, you can find this option under the File menu in Outlook.
    4. Check Spam/Junk Folder: Sometimes, legitimate emails may end up in the spam or junk folder. Make sure to check these folders to see if any important emails are there.
    5. Cached Mode Issues: If you are using Outlook in Cached mode, sometimes emails may not appear in your Inbox. This can happen if the notification for new messages fails to reach the search folder. You may need to disable Cached Exchange Mode and see if that resolves the issue.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.
