Full support for pst's in New Outlook?

I found the roadmap, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=%5B%22Outlook%22%5D&searchterms=pst#Roadmap and there are a lot of entries for allowing import/export between Outlook and pst's. What I don't see is full integration, with the pst file showing up in Outlook the way is does in Classic.

I've used pst files for decades and have multiple accounts. There is a real need to have direct access to the file from Outlook, to access that file dynamically and to move emails from multiple accounts to the file. I don't see a simple statement of that.

Will that happen?

@David

When will New Outlook for Windows get full PST file support on par with Classic Outlook?

Nobody knows. And anyone who tells you that they do know (unless their last name is Nadella) is lying. All we've got is what's on the Roadmap, the Feature Request, and the rumors you find in the trade press.

    I am quite familiar with what is currently supported. That wasn't my question.

    Currently, the new Outlook for Windows provides limited support for PST files. As of now, it allows read-only access to mail items within PST files, meaning users can open and read emails but cannot fully integrate PST files in the same way as in classic Outlook. The ability to access and manage PST files dynamically, including moving emails from multiple accounts to the PST, is not fully supported yet. Future updates may expand PST support capabilities, but specific timelines or features have not been detailed in the available resources.

    For organizations looking to manage PST files, it is recommended to use the OwaMailboxPolicy to control PST behavior, as relying on classic Outlook's registry keys may lead to restrictive behavior in the new Outlook.
