Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Forum!
Based on what you've shared, the error “The credential is invalid. Unexpected sub status (6008)” typically appears when authentication fails due to outdated or corrupted sign‑in data, cached tokens, or mismatches between your device and your work or school account. I hope the steps below help you get things working again.
Before trying anything advanced, here are the fixes most commonly recommended by Microsoft engineers and moderators:
- Sign out of all Microsoft apps like Teams, Outlook, Office, and OneDrive.
- Clear AAD Broker Plugin cache:
- Go to %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy
- Delete all files and folders inside.
- Clear credentials in Windows Credential Manager:
- Open Control Panel
- Go to Credential Manager
- Select Windows Credentials
- Remove any Microsoft or Office‑related entries.
- Re-register your Work/School account:
- Settings - Accounts - Access work or school
- Disconnect your account
- Restart
- Reconnect and sign in again.
- Avoid using Windows Hello PIN for authentication in affected apps. Switch to your full password instead.
Hope this helps. Feel free to update here if anything comes up!
