Hi, we changed the primary mail address of our users in AD. But in the Visual Studio Subscriptions in the Microsoft Partner Center we still see the old Mail-ID connected to the user. All users lost their subscriptions. We cannot simply assign the new Mail-ID to the user in the Partner Center. We get an error, that the user already has a Visual Studio Subscription?!

What can we do to change this?

To resolve the issue of users losing their Visual Studio subscriptions after changing their primary email addresses in Active Directory (AD), you need to ensure that the changes are reflected in the Microsoft Partner Center. Here are the steps you can take:

    1. Update Admin Information: Ensure that the admin information is updated before the email address changes. Sign in to the admin portal and add the new email addresses for the admins, ensuring they have the Super admin checkbox selected.
    2. Update Subscribers: After the email addresses for the subscribers have changed, sign in to the admin portal and manage the subscribers. You may need to use the bulk add feature to update all subscribers easily. If the subscriptions were assigned through a Microsoft Entra group, the subscriptions should automatically update when their email addresses are updated in the group.
    3. Reassign Subscriptions: If you encounter an error stating that the user already has a Visual Studio subscription, you may need to reassign the subscription to the new email address. This can be done by removing the old email address and adding the new one in the admin portal.
    4. Contact Support: If issues persist, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance with the transition and to ensure that the subscriptions are correctly associated with the new email addresses.

Following these steps should help in resolving the issue of lost subscriptions due to email address changes.
