I have a few email addresses attached to my Microsoft account, but there were a few more in the past that seemed to have vanished. I can't get access to one of my social media accounts because it's attached to one of those emails that no longer shows as attached to my Microsoft account, and quite frankly it's an address I made so long ago that I don't exactly remember what it was, I only remember the letter it started with. I still have emails on my account that was sent to that address, but now when I check those emails it simply says it was to one of the addresses still attached to my account. Is there a way to review the history of my associated/attached addresses so I can find that lost address? I've gone down such an insane rabbit hole trying to find a way to regain access to my social media account, but there's really no way without that lost address. There's no way for me to contact support for the social media platform, and I can't seem to find a way to contact Microsoft support. I would just really like to be able to speak with a real person.

    Hello Alois

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand how stressful it is when an old email alias disappears and ends up blocking access to another account.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to view the history of old email aliases (addresses you previously added or removed). Microsoft does not store a visible record of deleted aliases, and once an alias is removed, it will no longer appear anywhere in your account. Make sure that you already tried Q&A Assist suggestions. Also, please review all current aliases, sometimes an alias is still present but displayed differently. You can refer to this article to check your alias list: Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com - Microsoft Support

Also, please carefully recheck your old emails. When reviewing older conversations from years ago, even though the visible “To:” address is rewritten, you may still find helpful clues such as:

    • Username patterns
    • Subject lines referencing the old address
    • Registration confirmations from the social platform showing the first letter or partial email
    • Old password‑reset emails

If you’re unable to retrieve the information yourself, please try contacting Microsoft Support:

    • Go to Contact - Microsoft Support
    • Type a brief description of your issue in the search box.
    • Click "Get Help", then scroll to the bottom and select "Contact Support”.
    • Choose the appropriate Product and Category
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours) or a similar callback option (if available). Explain your situation clearly.

If the social media service has no support contact and the only recovery method is the lost email, your only option may be to reconstruct or re-register that old address if possible. If it was a non‑Microsoft email (Gmail, Yahoo, ISP mail), you'll need to attempt recovery through that provider.

Thank you so much for your understanding.

Unfortunately, there is no direct way to review the history of associated email addresses for your Microsoft account through the standard user interface. Once an alias (email address) is removed from your account, it is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If you have emails sent to that lost address, they will only show the current associated address in the email header.

To regain access to your social media account, you might consider the following steps:

    1. Check Old Emails: Look through your old emails for any messages that might contain the full email address or any hints about it.
    2. Social Media Recovery Options: Use any recovery options provided by the social media platform, such as recovery via phone number or other linked accounts.
    3. Contact Support: If possible, reach out to Microsoft Support for assistance regarding your account and the lost email address.

Unfortunately, without the exact email address, recovery options may be limited.
