How do I enable audio conferencing so attendees can dial-in by phone. Getting mixed messages. I've been told the Business Enterprise plan does and doesn't include it. I've also been told the Microsoft 365 Family plan can have it as an add-on.. no one seems to know exactly.. Please help!

    Hi @Duane D

Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

If you would like to enable audio conferencing so that attendees can dial in to Microsoft Teams meetings by phone, the meeting organiser must have one of the following valid licenses:

    1. Microsoft 365 / Office 365 E5 Users with an E5 license already have Audio Conferencing included. No additional add-on is required for dial-in capability.
    2. Plans that require an Audio Conferencing add-on:

If your base subscription does not include Audio Conferencing, you must assign an Audio Conferencing add-on license to the users who schedule meetings.

Common base plans where the add-on is required include:

    • Microsoft 365 E3 / Office 365 E3
    • Microsoft 365 E1 / Office 365 E1
    • Microsoft 365 Business Basic
    • Microsoft 365 Business Standard
    • Microsoft 365 Business Premium

To enable audio conferencing in Microsoft Teams so that attendees can dial in by phone, you need to ensure that the appropriate licenses are in place. Here are the key points regarding licensing:

    1. Business Enterprise Plans: Typically, Microsoft 365 Business plans include Audio Conferencing, but it's essential to verify the specific plan details as offerings can vary.
    2. Microsoft 365 Family Plan: This plan does not include Audio Conferencing by default. However, for business use, you would need to look into add-on options, as the Family plan is primarily designed for personal use.
    3. Licensing Requirement: Only users who plan to schedule or lead meetings need to have the Audio Conferencing add-on license. Attendees who dial in do not need any additional licenses assigned to them.

For more detailed information on how to set up Audio Conferencing, you can refer to the official Microsoft documentation.
