Here is what I have:

·       I use Outlook 365 Standard view on my PC

·       I have an Outlook.com email account

·       Most of my email activities are on my old Gmail account and are forwarded to my Outlook.com account.

·       On my phone, I use Gmail and Gmail Calendar

I want to:

·       Make Gmail, Gmail contacts and Gmail Calendar my only communication system, but use Outlook on my PC as the Email app

·       Create an automatic two-way sync between Gmail calendar and contacts, and Outlook on my PC.

What is the best way to accomplish this

    Hello Baha Habashy

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that you would like to use Gmail as your primary communication system while utilizing Outlook 365 (Standard) on your PC.

    Please try the following steps:

    1. Integrate Gmail into Outlook
    • Open Outlook 365 on your PC.
    • Navigate to File > Add Account.
    • Enter your Gmail address and select Connect.
    • A Google OAuth window will appear. Enter your Gmail password and select Allow to grant Microsoft the necessary permissions.
    • Click Done. Your Gmail folders will now populate in the Outlook sidebar.
    1. Establish a two-way sync bridge

Since Outlook "Standard" does not natively sync Google contacts or calendars, you must use a bridge tool (e.g., Outlook CalDav Synchronizer).

To achieve a two-way sync between your Gmail calendar and contacts with Outlook on your PC, you can follow these steps:

    1. Use Outlook with Gmail: Ensure that your Outlook is set up to connect to your Gmail account. You can do this by adding your Gmail account to Outlook using IMAP. This will allow you to access your Gmail emails directly in Outlook.
    2. Enable IMAP in Gmail: Make sure that IMAP is enabled in your Gmail settings. This is essential for syncing emails between Gmail and Outlook. You can enable IMAP by going to Gmail settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > Enable IMAP.
    3. Sync Gmail Calendar and Contacts: To sync your Gmail calendar and contacts with Outlook, you can use a third-party tool or service that supports two-way synchronization. Some popular options include:
      • G Suite Sync for Microsoft Outlook: If you have a G Suite account, this tool allows you to sync your Gmail, calendar, and contacts with Outlook seamlessly.
      • Outlook Google Calendar Sync: This is a free tool that allows you to synchronize your Outlook calendar with your Google Calendar.
      • Sync2: This is a paid software that can sync Outlook with Google Calendar and Contacts.
    4. Mobile Sync: Since you use Gmail and Gmail Calendar on your phone, ensure that your phone is set up to sync with your Google account. This will allow you to access the same calendar and contacts on your mobile device.

By following these steps, you can effectively make Gmail your primary communication system while using Outlook on your PC for email management, ensuring that your calendars and contacts are synchronized across all platforms.
