Restricted user to update profile

Hi All,

I am new to Azure portal.

Currently when the user wants to change his/her mobile phone , they send us the mail.
We have a documented procedure where we do following steps.

Click on “Users” on the left side.

Search the user with his/her e-mail ID.

Click on “Authentication methods”

Update the user new mobile number there.

However we want to automate this process where he/she can change their phone number on their own however restricting them not to view or edit anyone else detail. They should be restricted to update only phone numbers nothing else.

Needs guidance on the approach and appropriate documentation related to this.

    Thanks for reaching out and appreciate leveraging Microsoft Q&A.

    User can change their two-step verification method and settings on their own by following these steps:

    1. Sign in to the My Apps portal.
    2. Select your account name in the top right, then select profile.
    3. Select Security info Or click on following link which would take you directly to Security info page, if user already have registered for MFA earlier then they need to complete MFA verification by either of these methods authenticator app , phone call or security code and then click on change Phone number.
    4. Type in New phone
    5. verification code would be sent to new phone number.
    6. Upon successful SMS verification, user would see below confirmation.

    If user lost access to their phone due to which they could not login to portal then only admin can change the phone number on behalf of users.
