Login Pin Issues

My computer suddently says I need a new pin to get into my miscosoft account. I forgot my email password but succesfully recovered it and reset it. I am able to log into my microsoft email but eveyrtime I try and get on my computer it says "your PIN is no longer avaiable due to change in security settings on this device. Click to set up your PIN again".

Everytime I click it gives me only the option to scan a QR code and text me the code. My phone number has not changed but it will not text me the code. It gave me the option to put in my microsoft password which I successfully did but then took me back to the page to text me another code. (that it won't text me).

I tried calling the support number and said I was having login issues and it told me to go to a website(where it also says to send my phone number a code) and continues to not send me the code. I tried calling back and now it wont even take my call to talk to a real person and keeps sending me to the website.

I am supposed to work today and am very frustrated with the customer service.

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your PIN and account recovery. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    1. Reset Your PIN: If your PIN is no longer available, you can attempt to reset it. On the login screen, when prompted, select the option to set up your PIN again. If you are only getting the option to scan a QR code or receive a text, ensure that your phone number is correctly listed in your account settings.
    2. Check Security Info: If you can access your Microsoft account via email, go to the security settings and verify that your phone number is correct. You can also check for any alternative recovery methods that might be available.
    3. Use a Different Device: If possible, try accessing your account from a different device or browser to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, browser settings or cached data can interfere with the recovery process.
    4. Clear Browser Cache: If you are using a web browser to access your account, try clearing the cache or using an incognito/private browsing window to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Contact Microsoft Support: If you continue to have issues, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support again. You may want to try using their online chat support if available, as it can sometimes provide quicker assistance than phone support.
    6. Check for Updates: Ensure that your operating system is up to date, as sometimes updates can resolve unexpected issues with account access.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, you may need to wait for Microsoft to provide further assistance, especially if there are ongoing issues with their support system.
