Verify that the subscription is indeed canceled; go to your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services.

To learn more about refunds, see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription-67dca30b-b323-44d5-acc2-e02f9902c472 (applies to consumer licenses such as Microsoft 365 Family).

To request a refund for your inadvertently charged Microsoft 365 subscription, you can follow these steps:

    1. Contact Microsoft Support: Since this is a billing issue, it is best to reach out to Microsoft Customer Service directly. You can do this by visiting the Microsoft Support website.
    2. Refund Eligibility: If you canceled your subscription, you may be eligible for a prorated refund depending on the timing of your cancellation. If you canceled within seven days of the renewal, you may receive a full refund.
    3. Provide Details: When contacting support, provide them with your account details and explain that you were charged for a subscription you thought was canceled. This will help them assist you better.

For more detailed instructions on how to get a refund, you can refer to the Microsoft support page on refunds for subscriptions.
