If your Outlook account is Outlook.com / Hotmail / Live (home use), this is often the most reliable method:

• Install Microsoft Outlook from the App Store.
• Sign in with the same Outlook account you use on the PC.
• Open Outlook app > Settings > Contacts > Save Contacts > select your Outlook account.
• Turn on Save Contacts.
• Allow permission when prompted.

Your iPhone contacts will be saved back to Outlook and then sync to the PC automatically.

To sync iPhone contacts back into Outlook on a Windows computer, use one of these supported methods depending on how contacts are stored on the iPhone.

Option 1 – Use iCloud for Windows to sync iPhone contacts with Outlook

Use this if iPhone contacts are in iCloud (the usual default on iPhone):

1. On the Windows PC, download and install iCloud for Windows from the Microsoft Store.
2. Open the iCloud app on the PC and sign in with the same Apple ID used on the iPhone.
3. In iCloud, select Contacts and Calendars, then click Apply.
4. Open Outlook on the PC. iCloud contacts will now synchronize with Outlook and appear as an iCloud contacts folder.

This keeps contacts in sync between iPhone ↔ iCloud ↔ Outlook.

Option 2 – Sync via iTunes (local USB sync)

Use this if contacts are stored locally on the iPhone and iTunes is preferred:

1. Install Apple iTunes on the Windows PC.
2. Connect the iPhone to the PC with the USB cable.
3. iTunes opens automatically. In iTunes, under Devices, select the iPhone.
4. Select the Info tab.
5. Under Contacts, select Sync contacts from, then choose Outlook.
6. Choose All contacts to sync everything, or Selected groups to limit what syncs.
7. Click Apply.

After this one-time setup, each time the iPhone is connected and synced with iTunes, changes to contacts on either the iPhone or in Outlook will synchronize.

Notes:

• Ensure Windows, Outlook, iTunes/iCloud, and iOS are fully updated before starting.
• Back up the Outlook data file (.pst) and the iPhone before the first sync to avoid accidental data loss.
